PEARLS OF WISDOM 5 (The Feasts of the Lord are not Jewish)

Hello all,

My wise friend Pearl has done many studies on the Feasts of the Lord, and she has found out some very interesting facts. As always, I feel this needs to be shared. Enjoy!

Hi Patti,

Whenever I have wanted to investigate what other Christians have learned about the Feasts of God in the Old Testament, I have found that it’s almost impossible to find ANY which do not relate to “Jewish Feasts”. Try it for about an hour or so! They all sneak that word “Jewish” in there somewhere. And it spoils the truth.

These Feasts of God have NOTHING to do with the Jewish religion. The Rabbis and the Pharisees have DISTORTED, and incorporated these Feasts of God into their ways of worship. But the changes that they have made have almost made them unrecognizable as those which God has described as “shadows” of later spiritual fulfillment by Jesus Christ and his “body of Christ” (the Church).

In Mark 7:8-9, Jesus, Himself (red letters) warns us about this Christian apostasy of retaining “[Jewish] traditions”: “For laying aside the commandment of God (what He REALLY said about the details of the Feasts), ye hold the TRADITION OF MEN [copying and listening to the Jews], as the washing of pots and cups; and many other such like things ye do. (vs. 9) And he said unto them, ‘Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep YOUR OWN TRADITION.’ “

Colossians 2:8…”BEWARE lest any man spoil you though philosophy and vain deceit, after the TRADITIONS OF MEN (celebrating the Feasts according to Judaism), after the rudiments of the world (Judaism), and not after Christ.”

We ABSOLUTELY KNOW that the Jews, in their religion of Judaism, have no thought of Jesus Christ in their hearts during these “Jewish Feast Days” (as they FALSELY call them, and have changed them to suit their own beliefs). Yet, there are Christians who study the Jews and “their Feasts” in the way they are celebrated…..right down to the last “Shofar”. And these Christians don’t have a clue that they are DISHONORING GOD (and Jesus Christ) by doing this!!

Many of these Christians have even stopped calling Jesus by His own name, that is, the “name of Jesus” which is given to us in the New Testament.

Matthew 1:21…”And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

[Note: In my KJV Bible, this is the exact way it is written, including the name “JESUS” capitalized in the same way that “LORD” is sometimes capitalized in the OT.]

To me, this says that I should call Him by the name His mother (Mary) was TOLD to name Him…..”JESUS”. (Not “Yeshua”, or another form of that name.) Our Bible is presently written in ENGLISH, and most Christians speak ENGLISH. Then, to me, it’s distinct disobedience to call him by His name in ANOTHER LANGUAGE. But, I suppose that if your first, and main speaking language is HEBREW, then I guess “Yeshua” is acceptable. But, if you speak English, it is not. (In my opinion, of course.)

But, unfortunately, many Christians want to become more “Jewish” even though Jesus severely criticized the Jews and their leaders, the Pharisees and Scribes. Read Matthew 23 for great examples of how Jesus felt about the Jews and their leaders! So, how do you think God feels about your wanting to become more like them?
This may be what is meant in Revelation 2:4…”Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou has LEFT THY FIRST LOVE.” These are the words of Jesus Christ (red letters). One time you loved the “name of Jesus”….and now you have exchanged it for the Hebrew (Jewish), “Yeshua”!! And, the word “Shalom” is plentiful at the ending of Christian writing, in many cases. But then, Jews say “Shalom”, don’t they?

No, I don’t hate the Jews. God loves ALL people. I hate the fact that Chrisitans are going BACK into Judaism, and that’s what Jesus hated. He also “hated” the doctrine of the Nicolaitans as well. That’s when ONE man is the head over the rest of the “flock”. And they meet in buildings they call “churches”. See Revelation 2:6. Christians DO what God tells them not to do. They insist upon adding “works” to “grace”. See Eph. 2:8-9 to see what God has to say about “works”.

Think about it!! I KNOW this is the TRUTH about the apostasy in Christianity. The reason I know is that I was one of you not too long ago. But now, my eyes have been opened and I “hear” what the Spirit is saying to the churches (US).

And, now, back to the word “Shofar”, which is NOT a word used in Christianity.

KNOW HOW MANY TIMES THE WORD “SHOFAR” IS IN THE BIBLE? NONE! ZILCH! ZERO!! I have a” King James Bible”, a “Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible”, a” Geneva Bible”, and the “Concord Literal New Testament”. And I also have a “Stong’s Concordance”.

I have looked in each and every one of these Bibles, and the Concordance for the word “Shofar”. Know how many times I have found it in ANY verse of any of my Bibles? Same as above…..Zilch, Zero, and None! Nada!! But then, if you reference any “Jewish Bible”, or “Jewish Feasts”, I’m sure it will be there, oozing out of the pages.

For many hours I have researched the words “Feasts of God”, Trumpets, and “ram’s horns” on the internet for more information on PURELY Christian thoughts. I found only ONE today. A few weeks ago I found another one, but it’s not one I wish to present to clarify anything today. I have sent it on to a friend, and she has very much increased in her understanding since she is now aware of these things.

EVERY research article on the” Feasts of God” have the word “Jewish” somewhere in their information. Every one….except one! And I looked at almost a hundred of them, and read more than half of them….and scanned the rest. Christians have joined themselves at the “hip” to the religion of Judaism. And that’s the MAIN criticism that Jesus had when He walked this earth. He gave severe criticism to the Jews, the Pharisees and Scribes (leaders), and to those who were trying to make new Christians follow OT rules again….eg circumcision, and following Jewish rules and laws.

And the SAME THING is being done today…..AGAIN! Christians are following Jewish traditions again!! And they are using Jewish words and terms, and even recommending the writings of “Rabbis”.

“Ever learning and never being able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Those words of II Tim 3:6 just came to my mind. (If you find a word or two misplaced, that’s because it’s from memory only). It’s the definition of those who have a “form of godliness” but “deny the power of God”. Many Christians need a review of all those verses in II Timothy chapter 3. It’s about Christians who think they know better than God….and they do “their own thing”, or they do the things other men (Pastors, or Rabbis) tell them to do. But, it will ultimately be to their own detriment. We were warned. It’s up to us to heed that warning.
And going back to the SHOFAR, which isn’t in the Bible!

When God has told us that a “trumpet” should be blown, He is not saying that this “blast” should come from a “Shofar”, which is a RAM’S HORN.

Things that are DIFFERENT, are not the same. When God says, “trumpet”, he means a TRUMPET (made of silver), and not a “shofar” (made from a ram’s horn, or made by “man” in the shape of a ram’s horn).

Great article on “silver trumpets”:

Piece of link article:

Silver represents righteous and true words in the Bible: “The tongues of those who are upright and in right standing with God are as choice silver” (Proverbs 10:20a), “A word fitly spoken and in due season is like apples of gold in settings of silver” (Proverbs 25:11). The standard currency of the day was shekels of silver which were used for trade. In the same way, words are also traded; they are given and received (often with the expectation of something in return), and some words have more value and worth than others – based upon their weight and clarity.

God’s voice is likened to a trumpet in the Bible (Ex. 19:19; Rev. 1:10; 4:1) and the words spoken from God’s mouth are like pure silver: “The words and promises of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times over.” (Psalm 12:6). It seems clear that the silver trumpets are symbolic of God’s Word and Message going forth in clarity and purity.

When playing a trumpet the sound is made through three things: the breath, the tongue and the lips – ALL of which are also necessary for speaking! God is still using silver trumpets today through whom He blows His Breath/Spirit. Yet the sound which comes forth must be distinct and clear – if the trumpets give an indistinct sound, who will prepare themselves? (1 Cor. 14:8). And if someone tries to trumpet forth a message without having been first made into an instrument which has been refined, hammered, prepared and created by God, they will be like wind that just blows away: “the prophets will become wind, and the word is not IN them” (Jer. 5:13). We need to be first formed into His instruments through the refining and purifying of the fire of God (Mal 3:1-3) and this is something which changes our constitution and who we are forever.

The Sound of the Trumpets

Trumpets have a very clear and pure sound which seems somehow to be clearer and louder than any other musical instrument. However, not everybody likes trumpets because they can offend; they are usually quite a loud and even frightening instrument. The silver trumpets were used to alert the people of danger and battles. They were also sounded to let the Israelites know when it was time to journey on and follow the cloud, and sometimes that occurred during the night so they would have been woken up by the sound of the silver trumpets (Num 9:21). But being woken up by trumpets can be a bit of a shock! Yet how necessary it is for us today to hear and know God’s voice as a trumpet blast which wakes us from our spiritual apathy, sleep and even death.

A loud trumpet blast is needed to break through our spiritual death/sleep/lifelessness and raise us to Life in Christ! “Take notice! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable MUST put on the imperishable (Christ) and this mortal MUST put on immortality (Life!)” (1 Cor 15:51-53). Resurrection isn’t just a thing we receive in the future but is a Person we can know now; Jesus said “I AM the Resurrection and the Life; whoever believes and trusts in Me, though he is dead yet shall he live. I came that they may have and enjoy Life and have it in abundance, to the full, till it overflows” (John 11:25; 10:25b).

Most of us know that truth and agree in our head that Jesus is Resurrection and Life, but the question is: do I know Him as MY Life? Have I experienced Him as Resurrection? We need to know and see the truth and reality of Christ as Resurrection and Life in our own personal experience. This Resurrection Life is not just something that may take place in the future but is Someone which we need to be seeing and knowing now, “that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed in spirit into His likeness even to His death, in the hope that if possible I may attain to the spiritual and moral resurrection that lifts me out from among the dead even while in the body.” (Phil. 3:10b-11)

Prayerfully, this will open some eyes so that Christians may start developing less the “mind of the Jews” and more of the “mind of Christ”.

There are many, many, articles on the “Shofar” for those who want more knowledge on that subject. But since it’s not something that God put on the pages of my Bible, I left them where I found them (on the internet).

In God’s love,

Thanks Pearl! Great Study, and very timely. Can always count on you to tell it like it is! Amen to that!

Hello all! What a long strange trip it has been! I am amazed that through 40 years of Bible studies, Bible College, and attending a multitude of churches, of varying denominations, I have come full circle back to the day when I was “born again”. On that day (Sept 24th 1978) I found the Truth when Jesus found me. I knew in an instant that I could live in eternity by living in the moment with Christ. God is love and loves everyone and wants everyone to be set free in Christ. That the spiritual world trumps the material world and by focusing on Christ one can live spiritually every moment, and death to self brings abundant new life. This was massively life changing! I went from being broken to being whole! I could not contain the love and joy within me. I was a different person and all my relationships changed. And shortly after that earthshaking day, I did sell everything I owned and went on the road proclaiming the JOY of the Good News!! Yet, after three years, I settled down and starting going to church, realizing I had not truly studied the Word of God. I had attended church as a child and as a teen I sang in the choir and taught vacation Bible school, so I knew the major highlights of the Gospel, and pretty much believed what preachers were preaching about God’s Word. Still, I did not find the fire of the Spirit in many of the churches I attended. To me, all the different denominations were creating division not unity in the body of Christ, by chopping up the Word to suit the traditions of men. In 1997 I decided to start reading and studying the Bible for myself. I read books about the “rapture” and the Left Behind series of books and started to see how churches were so divided on these issues and nothing they were teaching really rang true in my heart. I attended Bible College in 2004 and got my Masters in Theology and really got into understanding the End Times as taught by the pre-trib and pre-wrath rapture groups and authors. I was completely sold on this interpretation of the Bible, so much so, that I started writing about it on a pre-trib web site called Five Doves. I got really into waiting for the rapture and trying to figure out the timing and all that, and wrote many many articles about how and when this would happen. It was exciting, I felt that I was learning so much. The more I studied on my own the more I started to see that I did not see in His Word the same things that others were seeing and started to write about what I was finding. As soon as I did this, and started to stray away from the herd of pre-tribbers, I was thrown off the web site. As soon as that happened, the Lord started giving me new revelations and I started asking questions and rely on Him to show me in His Word the answers I was looking for. The major turning point was when I started writing for another web site (Rapture Prophecy Bible Forum) and found out who Israel truly is. That is the foundation for all Bible study…once one knows whom Israel is, one can never go back to dispensational beliefs. That opened the flood gates of revelations from the Lord. He made sure that I would have the time to truly focus on what the Holy Spirit was showing me. I fell down some stairs and broke both of my feet and was not able to do anything but study the Bible. And Study I did!! I was consumed with it, day and night and felt on fire for the Truth. Things that I had believed in for so long just fell away, and everyday I was finding out more and more. Although I started to see that there is no end time rapture, I still believed in a future Second Coming and that we were in the Last Days and how the world was becoming a dark place full of evil. I wrote much about this…even on this blog. Yet, at the same time finding out about the Kingdom of God and how it has already come, and how the Jewish feasts have all been fulfilled in Christ. We are not waiting for the last three to be fulfilled as so many preach and teach. The plan of Salvation was FINISHED AT THE CROSS, and all that was left to be fulfilled was the sending of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost…the 7th and last feast not the 4th…and Christ’s Second Coming in Judgment and the resurrection of the saints. That brings me up to recent time, and my most recent revelations from the Lord and I am shocked at what I have found out! I never even conceived that the Bible was a finished work and that there was no longer anything left to be fulfilled. Yet, that is what I have found out and it is AMAZING how I feel totally set free!! The Truth truly does set one free from the searching and the divisions of the traditions of man!! It all makes so much sense and every verse has taken on a new and heartfelt meaning!! It is GOOD NEWS!! Jesus is our King we can live in His Kingdom RIGHT NOW!! He did ALL He said he would do, when He said He would do it, all we need to do is KNOW HIM. The only event left to happen will happen to each of His children when they pass from this world and into eternity. I was so overwhelmed by my discoveries that I did not know how to approach beginning to write about it. Also, it labels me (and I hate labels in reference to divisions in Christ) I find that I have become a full Preterist. I would never ever have thought this is where my studies would lead, but cannot deny it is where the Lord has brought me. I am now ready to start proving it and that is what I will be doing from here on out. Perhaps the most wonderful aspect of all this is that it has brought me full circle. When I was born again and shown the power of Jesus and relying on Him, I knew it was finished in Him…He was the answer to all. Love is the strongest power in the universe and God is love. Nothing else really mattered. It was not until I got caught up in the “traditions of men” that the path got crooked and the way confusing. Yet, it is so wonderful to find out that His Word tells us the Truth, and that Jesus is the Way, the TRUTH, and the life. That being said, I will be posting studies that helped me understand, and hope that anyone out there that is reading this may find what they may be looking for, as they take this journey OF FINDING OUT FOR YOURSELF. God bless all, and may you be in His love and Light today and always!! JESUS IS ALL AND EVERYTHING!!! Patti C.
